“The measure of life is not its duration, but its donation”.

As a part towards social responsibility, Qatar Bloggers –Photographers and Indian Meetup Friends (IMF) have organized a Blood Donation Campaign on Friday 9th Oct 2020 from 8am-1pm at Aster Medical Center, Al Hilal. This was organized in association with Aster Medical Center and Hamad Medical Corporation as collaborative effort.

Blood donation is one of the noblest and greatest donations one can make. Blood is our life saver. It has no substitute. Several lives are lost because of the unavailability of blood. The gap in demand and supply of blood needs to be abridged.

With more than 40 plus registered and more than record 75% units were successfully donated. Donors registrations included members from India Meetups Friends, Qatar Bloggers group and staffs from the Aster Medical Center. The camp was organized in a very safe and secure environment with assistance and support from Hamad Medical Staffs and Aster Volunteers on ground. Campaign included blood test considering the hemoglobin levels of the donor and the type of blood donated then a set of questionnaire for the donor regarding his health history. Donors were then directed to the area designated for blood donation and based on the results of his/her health attributes the required amount of blood is donated.

Each of them understood that their little contribution can prove to be of great help to others. As recognition of this humanly act the donors were credited with a gift certificate from Aster Medical Center to avail some free services for future visits and refreshment were arranged as well.

We on behalf of the community and blood-needy patients, thank each blood donors on their contribution and inspiring others to donate.

Blood is the essence of life.  In fact, there is no substitute for blood. So each drop of donation matters.” When one donates blood, one surely feels elated to give someone unknown the most precious gift- The Gift of Life.”
