H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Muhammad Al Nabit, the President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, has announced the launch of a cutting-edge application called “Qatar Statistics” for smart mobile devices. The application has become available for free download on various types of devices with Android and IOS operating systems. This important step comes in conjunction with the start of the field visits of the General Census of Population, Housing and Establishments “Qatar Census 2020”. It also coincides with a special memory for all of us in which we celebrate the National Day of the State of Qatar on December 18, 2020.
Commenting on the news, Dr. Khalid Ali Al-Quradaghi, Director of the Information Systems Department and Adviser to the Office of the President of Planning and Statistics Authority, explained that the new application “Qatar Statistics” will provide all users with a direct link to register in order to electronically complete the data of “Qatar Census 2020” in an easy, safe and fast way without the need to receive field researchers to register households and individuals in the country.
The new application is user-friendly, whether in terms of the practical design of the user interface or the quick link between it and the official Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) website and the data published thereon. Moreover, the application is available in both Arabic and English versions.
The application is completely related to PSA statistical work as it contains various periodic data issued by the statistical departments in PSA in terms of indicators, figures and survey results. The application allows a large number of such data without the need to be connected to the Internet. In addition, it is easy to conduct statistical comparisons for the selected topics between several years, while having the ability to share many data through social media and e-mailing platforms, as well as sending them to others through many state-of-the-art means of communication.
The “Qatar Statistics” application displays some statistical data in a smooth, non-traditional interactive way, such as foreign trade statistics and the data of a comprehensive set of Qatar maps. It also enables its users at any time to directly contact and communicate with the Planning and Statistics Authority if there is an inquiry or data request. Further, the application sends alerts to users when data are updated or new data are issued, which makes it an interactive application from many aspects and suitable for all groups of society and all institutions of the State of Qatar.
