Gym goers and employees are now required to wear masks all the time inside the gyms in Qatar, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has said.
In an announcement issued on Tuesday, the ministry said it has amended certain conditions imposed on gyms and fitness centres before they were allowed to reopen in Qatar.
The conditions are:
*Body temperatures of everyone entering the gyms should be checked and should be below 38 degrees Celsius
*COVID-19 contact tracing app Ehteraz should be installed in the smartphones of all gym goers and only those with green colour code should be allowed in
*Employees and customers are required to wear masks while they are inside the gym.
*Those using the gyms must maintain a safe distance of at least 3 metres from one another
*Group training is prohibited. The trainer is allowed to train only one person and there should be a gap of at least 3 metres between him/her and the trainee at all times
*Gym and fitness centres are obligated to close toilets and changing rooms and provide hand sanitizers and soap to users.
*Gym goers are encouraged to bring their own towels, sanitizers and water bottles
*Gym employees have to clean and sanitize equipment and tools every two hours
*These decisions shall be effective as of September 8, 2020 (Tuesday) and it is subject to amendments.
