Qatar Municipality was Established as the oldest municipality in the State under the law No. (11) for the year 1963, with the organization of municipal Qatar, which organized the work of the municipality, and then some provisions of Law No. (11) for the year 1963 were amended with the Law No. (15) for the year 1963. and refer to the Article (1) of its amendments that , we find that Title of the law No. (11) for the year 1963 is replaced with (the organization of municipal Qatar) to the Law No. (15) for the year 1963 (the organization of Doha Municipality), then according to this article the name of Qatar Municipality was changed to Doha Municipality.
According to article (1) of Article (2) that the Doha Municipality is established , has a corporate and considered one of the public institutions with the purpose of working with the best means to advance the Doha urban and healthy.
The Doha Municipality since its inception with its various departments and units achieved many achievements and it took in mind the facilitating and expediting the completion of transactions and revisions in terms of municipal services, which has been done through the organized scientific planning , supporting these plans and programs, and setting all legislation and laws necessary to preserve these gains.

Was established under the municipal law of the year 1972 and the establishment of municipalities in Qatar. and the building of Umm Slal municipality was opened on Saturday 16 Zo Alqeada in the year1394 , corresponding to 29/11/1974 AD city of Umm Slal under the auspices of the late Sheikh / Mohammed Bin Jabor Al Thani, Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning breviously and the presence of the late Mr. / Abdul Aziz Al-Ghanim Chairman of the Shura Council and the dignitaries of the region and their children.
And the municipality is headed from its inception until today by Sheikh / Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Thani.

The Al Daayen municipality is the seventh in the order between the municipalities of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning after the municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakra, Umm Salal, Al Khour Al Zakhira and ELshamal .
with the urban and population growth the country has experienced in recent years, there is a need to create the municipality of Daayen as Highness ,the Emir approved, the decision of the Council Ministers No. (13) for the year (2004 m) of the establishment of the municipality, which has legal personality, under the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning

Al Sheehaniya Municipality
On 15/9/2014 AD, the Cabinet issued Law No. (50) of 2014 AD establishing Al Sheehaniya Municipality with a legal personality to report to the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning.
On 17/9/2014 AD, the Cabinet approved the draft Decree Law to amend some provisions of Law No. (22) of 1988 AD identifying the borders of Al Sheehaniya. Under the provisions of the draft law, the word “Al Sheehaniya” and the phrases “Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning” and “Real Estate Registration Department” shall be replaced by the word “Al Sheehaniya” and the phrases “Minister of Municipal Affairs” and “Real Estate Registration Department and Notarization” successively whenever set forth in the afore-mentioned Law No. (22) of 1988 AD.
On 2/10/2014 AD, Decree Law No. (19) of 2014 has been issued to the effect of amending some provisions of Law No. (22) of 1988 AD and identifying the borders of Al Sheehaniya Municipality. The Law stipulates that the word “Al Sheehaniya” shall be replaced by the word “Al Sheehaniya” whenever set forth in the title and provisions of the afore-mentioned Law No. (22) of 1988 and the enclosed statement. In addition, the phrases “Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning” and “Real Estate Registration Department” shall be replaced by the phrases “Minister of Municipal Affairs” and “Real Estate Registration Department and Notarization” successively whenever set forth in the afore-mentioned Law No. (22) of 1988 AD.
On 24/5/2015 AD, His Excellency the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning issued a Ministerial Decision identifying the geographical borders of Al Sheehaniya Municipality in accordance with the plans and coordinates enclosed with this Decision.
On 9/9/2015 AD, His Excellency the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning issued Ministerial Decision No. (149) of 2015 commissioning Mr. Rashid Saeid An-Neimi, Director of Ar-Rayyan Municipality, to carry out the tasks and duties of the Director of Al Sheehaniya Municipality.
On mid-July 2016, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi, the Minister of Municipality and Environment, issued a decision to the effect of hiring Mr. Muhammad Seif Tashshal Al-Hajiri as the first Director of Al Sheehaniya Municipality.
Al Sheehaniya is the eighth municipality in the Ministry of Municipality and Environment after Doha, Rayyan, Al-Wakrah, Al-Khour, Adh-Dhakhirah, Umm Salal, Adh-Dhayin and Ash-Shamal.
Al Sheehaniya has been one of the areas and residential districts of Ar-Rayyan Municipality. Its affairs have been managed by Al Sheehaniya Office, an office reporting to the Municipality, until a decision has been issued to establish Al Sheehaniya Municipality which has been later changed to Al Sheehaniya Municipality.
