Discover Qatar in Partnership with Qatar Airways Holidays

Please do not book a “Welcome Home Package” until you have read the FAQ’s, you know what type of quarantine you will be required to complete, and you have approval to travel to Qatar.

There are 2 categories of Welcome Home Quarantine Bookings and 1 category for those with Mekaines/Mukaynis on their EEP:

  • Arrivals on flights from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka
  • Arrivals on flights and via Abu Samra border from all other Red Zone Countries
  • Mekaines/Mukaynis Quarantine

Entry into Qatar: Under the instructions of the Qatar Government, entry into Qatar is currently only allowed for: Qatari nationals, the children and spouses of Qatari citizens, Permanent resident permit holders, Regular resident permit holders with QID (subject to ‘Exceptional Entry Permit’ approval) & GCC citizens.

Pre-approved QID resident permit holders are required to obtain ‘Exceptional Entry Permit’ approval via the Qatar Portal. QID residents who are currently in the State of Qatar and wish to travel and return will automatically receive an ‘Exceptional Entry Permit’ upon departure.

You will not be allowed to board your flight or cross the Abu Samra land border if you do not have a correct Discover Qatar Welcome Home hotel voucher.

You must read the Frequently Asked Questions on the appropriate booking page before making your booking.

All passengers arriving on flights originating from or transiting via Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka will be required to stay at one of a specified group of hotels, according to information available on the Discover Qatar website.
The website also said (as of 11.45pm on Tuesday) that “new quarantine packages are being finalized. Check back soon to make a booking.”
The updated information on hotel quarantine bookings for arrivals from the six ‘high-risk’ countries comes following Monday’s announcement by the Ministry of Public Health that hotel quarantine is mandatory for people coming to Qatar from those places.
With effect from April 26, “all passengers arriving on flights originating from or transiting via Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka, will be required to stay at one of a specified group of hotels, for which you can use the search calendar on this page (https://www.qatarairwaysholidays.com/qa-en/welcome-home-high-risk-arrivals/) to check availability”, the website says. “Quarantine will be for a mandated period of 10 days. PCR test taken within 48 hours of the flight departure must be presented at check-in to be able to board your flight.
“There are no exemptions from quarantine for those who have been vaccinated or have previously tested positive.”
* For existing bookings arriving on or before April 28, 23:59 Doha local time:
“If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving before April 28, 23:59, from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines or Sri Lanka, your current Discover Qatar voucher is valid for travel. We will advise you of any changes to your booking and quarantine requirement on arrival,” the website states.
“You will not be asked to pay any additional costs between your original hotel booked and one of the mandatory Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotels, if there is a price difference. Equally, you will be eligible to claim for a refund if your original quarantine booking was more expensive than the options available.”
* For existing bookings arriving on or after April 29, 00:00 Doha local time:
“If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving after April 29, 00:00 local time Doha, we will contact you before departure to confirm that your original booking is cancelled. You will need to re-book a hotel following the instructions provided in the e-mail,” according to Discover Qatar.
“You will be required to pay for your new booking in full. Your original booking will be refunded within 15 working days.”
Visit https://www.qatarairwaysholidays.com/qa-en/pages/high-risk-faqs for more information about this change.
* New bookings made from April 27, 19:00 Doha local time:
All new bookings will be required to book a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel for the mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar.
All new bookings will be required to present a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel voucher to be permitted to board a flight departing from or transiting via the six countries.
Any bookings made on or after April 27, 19:00 Doha local time, which are not in a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel for a flight originating in or transiting via the six countries, will be cancelled at 100% cancellation fee.
* If you are not flying from or transiting via Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka
“If you are not on a flight from or transiting via the six countries, you should not book a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar; you will not be permitted to check in and you will not be entitled to a refund,” the website explains.

Those not flying from or transiting via the six countries should read the information available at https://www.qatarairwaysholidays.com/qa-en/welcome-home-7-night-booking/overview to ensure they book the correct mandated quarantine hotel.
