The Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari has reiterated the importance of following precautions to protect from COVID-19 during the Eid Al Adha celebration.
“As Eid Al Adha will be soon upon us we advise all to adhere to precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Public Health to prevent an increase in cases (COVID-19) during the Eid season and protect our community,” the Minister said in a message on social media.
Also the health sector’s medical and administrative staff congratulated the people of Qatar on Eid Al Adha and stressed the importance of adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
In a social media campaign they have insisted on the COVID-19 precautions to be taken in light of the upcoming Eid Al Adha weekend.
Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Co-Chair of the National Pandemic Preparation Committee, has insisted that COVID-19 pandemic will continue to recede as people continue to adhere the precautionary measures to curb the spread.
Dr. Hamad Al Rumaihi, Director of the Health Protection and Communicable Diseases Control Department at the Ministry of Public Health has urged the public to make sure to protect loved ones who are elderly and suffering from chronic diseases.
Echoing the same, Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, national lead for healthy ageing on the Qatar National Health Strategy has said, “Individuals above the age of 60 are advised to avoid social gathering as possible during the Eid celebrations.”
Officials have also enphasised on the importance of following the list of restrictions released by the Ministry of Public Health to be followed during the phase three of easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

“During phase three number of people will be limited to 10 people in doors and 30 people out doors during social gatherings,” said Nasser Al Naimi, Deputy Chief of Quality, Director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute.
Dr. Mariam Abdulmalik. Managing Director, Primary Health Care Corporation in her message has encouraged people to maintain a social distancing, wear face mask and maintain good hand hygiene as the most important measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Public has also been reminded of the importance of Ehteraz contact-tracing app installed on mobile devices when leaving their homes, allowing the Ministry to track if the user has been in touch with an infected person.
“Ehteraz application helps protect the community from COVID-19 and promotes adherence to precautionary measures against the virus,” said Ali Al Khater, Chairman of the Supreme Communications’ Committee for Healthcare at the Ministry of Public Health and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Communications Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
While, Nayef Al Shamri, Acting Executive Director, Media, at HMC has urged the public to depend only on reliable information related to COVID-19.
“Make sure you seek health information from reliable sources only, and refrain from sharing information from unreliable sources. Safety is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.
