Who Are We?
Paws Rescue Qatar is in operation to rescue and re-home stray and abandoned dogs and cats.
PAWS is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless animals until they can be placed in responsible, loving homes. We rely on fundraisers, volunteers, flight angels, foster homes and your donations to provide a safe home for all the animals at our shelter, and all the others soon to come.
Our History
Our Co-Founders Emily and Alison started PAWS by fundraising for a couple of dogs that needed expensive medical treatment, and finding foster or forever homes for other stray dogs.
As numbers increased, a committee was formed with some dedicated volunteers who became more involved with the day-to-day running and development of our organisation. We initially developed our activity along with a private property owned by a Qatari, but within a year it was evident that the facility was outgrown by our needs.
Our next big task was to find land that is sufficient for our needs, and we have been at the forefront of the shelter build, which includes three kennel blocks for dogs, four communal rooms for cats, a basic clinic, isolation, quarantine, and facility rooms. We rely on the public’s support for furnishing the shelter rooms and the running costs. This includes everything from air conditioning units to beds for the animals, and so on.

Animal Rights Activist, adoring mum to non-fluffy and fluffy babies! Nothing will drown out her inner voice when it comes to her passions and values…..nothing. Alison leads the events and fundraising amongst many other duties.
Emily Blenkinsop
Co-Founder
She has worked on game reserves in both Kenya and South Africa, which has fuelled her interest in protecting the welfare of both wildlife and domestic animals. She has herself two rescued dogs from Qatar, a husky and a ‘Doha Special’ who have had to share their home with the odd foster that has come through the house. She founded Paws Rescue Qatar with her friend Alison in 2013.

Guardian Angel Sponsorship
What Is a Guardian Angel?
By becoming a Guardian Angel sponsor for the shelter, or kennel/cat cage, we have a more dependable way to gauge our ability to intake all the animals we possibly can. PAWS is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on donations, sponsorship’s and fundraising for maintaining upkeep. Your contribution keeps our shelter doors open and able to provide veterinary care, food and shelter to all the animals in our shelter.
Personal Guardian
When you sign up to be a Guardian Angel, we’ll mount a laminated card on the kennel of your choice in recognition of your contribution with either your business name, an individual/family name or memorial. The card will be placed on the shelter home of an animal you sponsor for the length of time you request. Choose a dog kennel or a haven in the cattery. In addition to your name, you can choose a message for display. Visitors to PAWS Rescue Qatar will know you’re a special guardian angel to an animal. Your sponsorship will be transferred to any animal residing in your shelter space. This is also a wonderful and lasting way to pay tribute to a loved one or pet.
Cage cards will be placed on the 1st and 15th of every month.
