PS: I never skip BREAKFAST!!

The headline says it all. I think I have not skipped breakfast or I don’t skip breakfast, of course somedays exceptions are there (though unplanned). However, tight schedule I have, I always try to take out time for a quick breakfast. It is important to note that we are fasting the entire night and not a good idea to eat the first meal only around 12pm or 1pm, which is lunch. My day starts pretty much early and in order to function properly, I need to load myself with essential nutrients and a balanced breakfast in the morning for sure.  I know people have different perspectives about their diet plans and depending on their body structure or body requirements, some people may not like the idea of having breakfast. But from my experience, I try to maintain small meals throughout the day so that I feel energetic and can focus on my activities. I want to bring to notice that a good breakfast plays an important role in maintaining healthy lifestyle. The multitude of ways why breakfast is essential is shared below:

6 Reasons Why You Should Never Skip Breakfast | On The Table

  • It kicks starts metabolism. It helps our body’s blood sugar levels go back to normal, and putting body into full working condition for the rest of the day.
  • It enhances memory and concentration. The vitamins and nutrients supplied to the brain helps me keep focus, as the brain is not starved of energy.
  • It decreases the amount of overall daily caloric intake. It may seem strange at first, but by eating breakfast, we are less likely to consume unnecessary calories throughout the rest of the day. When we skip breakfast, body feels like it needs to compensate and then we are prone to eating more foods and less healthy foods during the afternoon and evening.
  • It avoids mood swings.
  • It makes us feel more energetic, more focused and take multiple tasks throughout the day

My favorite on the go breakfast which keeps me full and keep mood swings at bay.

Chia Seed Oatmeal

Overnight oats are one of the perfect and easiest and on the go breakfast if you want a wholesome, homemade morning meal, but you don’t want to add anything extra to your morning routine. Rolled oats, soya milk or almond milk, almonds, apricots, and a few other tasty ingredients are combined in a container and left to chill overnight in the refrigerator. The oats become soft and creamy by morning, just like slow-cooked oatmeal. I add chia seeds as they are rich in omega-3s and have other health benefits. Pair that with a little honey, cinnamon, and vanilla essence to add some sweetness and you are good to go!

Easy Tofu Scramble Recipe

Tofu scramble is a popular vegan breakfast dish that has a similar texture to scrambled eggs. This healthy breakfast contains onions and green bell peppers, but you can add even more nutrients by tossing in extra vegetables, such as spinach, mushrooms, and small dices of broccoli. I usually repeat is twice or thrice a week trying in different ways and makes my mornings more interesting. You can try various ways to cook this recipe depending how you want to.

Guacamole (from Avocado)

This is my most favorite breakfast as it provides majority of the daily dose of Vitamin K. It also contains Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamins B5, B6 and Vitamin E. Thanks to the avocado in guacamole as we are getting an abundance of these important nutrients. Avocados are packed with the kind of fat that is healthy for the heart. Oleic acid is found in guacamole which is widely known for its health benefits.
