Mirchi Launches its mobile app in Qatar

Local Live FM and from various cities in India, plus an extensive pool of audio content to be available on the go

Doha, 27 February 2022: Indian and South Asian audiences and listeners across Qatar welcomed the launch of the Mirchi app on Apple and Android smartphones and the Android Auto and Apple Car play systems.

The Mirchi App was launched by the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency Dr Deepak Mittal on 27th of Feb 2022 at Crown Plaza followed by a press conference. H.E Dr. Deepak Mittal spoke about the importance of Radio as a medium in entertaining people with hyper local information from their cities, even though far from their homeland.  He recollected the initial days of this medium even before TV became popular and said this medium has always been there as a strong medium of entertainment. He congratulated Mirchi for its 1st anniversary in Qatar and for this great initiative in bringing multiple Mirchi stations and content on a single application as a Shortcut to India.

The Mirchi App widens Mirchi’s reach from only radio stations in these markets to an “always on App experience” with a wide range of content from live radio stations, to podcasts to radio stories the app will now enable listeners to tune in to the complete Mirchi experience. This gives marketers and advertisers across the market an opportunity to engage with their audience through targeted online advertising opportunities via a multitude of genres and formats.

While Mirchi has been present on consumers’ phones 24×7 with viral videos and social media posts across major platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. This is a major step in connecting with Mirchi’s fans and followers directly by putting the Mirchi App on their handsets.

The launch of the app fortifies Mirchi’s presence in key international markets by providing consumers a seamless entertainment experience, enabling them to access Mirchi’s marquee content across geographies on the go – on their smartphones as well as in their cars enabled with Android Auto & Apple Car Play.

Apart from being able to access MirchiOne 89.6 FM, listeners can now tune into their favourite live FM stations from back home in India. The Mirchi app will also offer original audio series and stories, podcasts, and snackable audio content in over 10 Indian languages and across genres like drama, romance, horror, and comedy.

Some of the finest audio content produced for the South Asian audience like RJ Naved’s lighthearted Murga prank calls, “The Devdutt Patnaik” show, “The Bhatt Show” hosted by Mahesh and Pooja Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s “What Women Want” and “Manto” voiced by Nandita Das, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Sayema will enthrall listeners for sure.
